The captain at Citation SportFishing, Gerrad Otto, started fishing at a very young age and went on his first offshore trip at the age of 10. At that moment, he set out to start pursuing his dream, working his way from the bottom – picking up fish for fish cleaners and washing and icing boats – to eventually getting the opportunity to start riding along on charter trips.
He got his first opportunity to start working on a boat when he was 15. Since then, he’s traveled and become a well-rounded fisherman across many fisheries, but the Outer Banks has kept calling him home.
